Inspired by the sporadic, perhaps discordant arrangement of barnacles on a rock surface, the 21 collection is fabricated from thin sheets of porcelain draped over inverted trumpet-shaped diffusers made of sandblasted borosilicate glass. The thin porcelain skin is allowed to dress the borosilicate core in whatever form occurs naturally - creating a unique shape in every iteration of the fabrication process. A strong contrast is established between the organically distributed soft light passing through the translucent white porcelain skin and the sharp, crisp light passing through the borosilicate glass diffuser.

21.1 is a single 21 pendant hung from a canopy. Each diffuser houses a low voltage lamp. The pendant is designed to hang either alone or in clusters. 21.1 uses strain relief connections, which allow the pendant lengths to be adjusted on site. Round, brushed-nickel canopies come standard with 10 feet of coaxial cable. Additional cable lengths are available in increments of 10 feet, up to a maximum of 120 feet in special applications.

All Bocci designs are developed, engineered, and fabricated in-house through an infrastructure calibrated to provide full control over technique, quality, and scale.

Bocci recommends mounting transformers remotely in a close, accessible and hidden location for ease of long term maintenance. Installation to be done by certified electrician to ensure code compliance. Shallow & Deep canopies attach directly to a standard junction box. Flush Mini canopy requires transformers to be remote mounted and a drywaller to provide a finished look. The flush mini canopy is suitable for all common ceiling substrates if backed with plywood. This new canopy pairs with the flush mount anchor for a consistent finish for both random and sculptural cable installs. The flush mini canopy consists of two parts - the anchor and the finish cap. We recommend that the anchor be installed into 16 mm marine-grade plywood, ensuring a strong connection point for the canopy. The finish cap is first threaded onto the coaxial cable - the length of which is set by our new strain relief clip (capable of holding pendants up to 15 lbs/6.8kgs). The coaxial cable is then wired to the driver/transformer. The finish cap is then screwed into the anchor - leaving you with a minimal, flush exit point for the coax to emerge from. Unless otherwise specified, one transformer is sent for every 5 grouping of pendants. The LED version is only dimmable with quantities of 3 or more fixtures on the same driver, requires a ELV compatible dimmer.
