In 1963, Finn Juhl designed a series of characteristic circular patterns for the Danish carpet manufacturer, Vittrup. The simple circular pattern is enhanced by a striking use of color, creating a unique design that embodies the trends and vibrancy of the era of the 'Swinging Sixties'.
Finn Juhl originally designed the rugs for the Danish company Vittrup Tæpper (Vittrup Rugs). However, the rugs did not make it into production at the time. With an ambition to offer a complete range of Finn Juhl designs, House of Finn Juhl revived the patterns and relaunched the rugs in 2015. A timeless geometric design, the rug is perfect for positioning beside a sofa, lounge chair or beneath a large table, adding an eye-catching layer of texture, color and depth to a room. In Finn Juhl's original drawings of the circular patterns show different color combinations - some are calm and neutral in their expression, while others are extremely colorful and striking.. The trend was later embraced by designers such as Verner Panton.
The rugs are produced in two rectilinear sizes with in four different color combinations: 'Grey/Black', 'Orange/Green', 'Blue/Navy' and 'Beige/Nature'. A round rug with no pattern is also available in two sizes. The carpets are hand-tufted in a wonderfully dense 100% looped wool.
