The Mater Liuku Base Pendant is designed by Finnish designer Maija Puoskari. It is crafted in solid, FSC certified linden wood and stripped of excessive decoration, leaving focus on the simple design. The light source is hidden in the drop - or ball-shaped - design, which is treated with a matte or black lacquer. The two shapes constitute the base of the Mater Liuku Pendant, with the option of an additional glass shade. The minimalistic design means the Liuku Base is ideal as a single pendant, aligned or in decorative clusters for both residential and commercial decor.

The Finnish designer Maija Puoskari graduated from the Aalto University of Helsinki in 2009. Before her design studies Puoskari had already graduated as a florist. Her background often draws inspiration from nature while her work is characterized by a strong sense of pure form mixed with functionality and precise finishing. She works widely with various design and exhibition projects. Puoskari has been awarded several grants and prizes, and her work has been shown in many national and international collection exhibitions and fairs.
