The 1951 chair is an update of an original Emeco chair made for Navy hospitals from 1951. The chairs and stools are offered with recycled PET plastic seat & back in a variety of colors and a brushed/anodized frame that stacks six high. All colors are suitable for outdoor use.
As President of Designworks USA, Adrian Van Hooydonk is in charge of day-to-day operations and direction of the studio. Designworks USA is a strategic design consultancy and member of the BMW Group, based in Newbury Park, California. Designworks was founded in 1972 by internationally acclaimed designer Charles Pelly and acquired by the German automaker BMW in 1995.
