By the unusual construction of CH 29 Wegner achieved a couple of advantages. First of all it made it possible to build a chair as sturdy as any traditional chair but with the use of fewer parts. Another advantage was the comfort, as the construction enabled him to make the seat wider in the front, which along with the heavily curved back made the chair extremely comfortable. The cutting out in the sides of the back, the pointed legs and the elaborate execution of the joint between forelegs and hind legs are details making the sawhorse chair a distinctive and sculptural piece of furniture. CH 29 is mainly used in private dining environments but restaurants have also recognized its comfort in combination with its space-saving dimensions.
