Featuring an elemental, bent tubular-steel frame with a turned nylon foot, Crate Chair prioritizes comfort with upholstered seat featuring a fold-stitch detail.

The Crate Series was inspired by a humble old wine crate. "I moved into an apartment in Paris without much furniture. I found an old wine crate the builders had been using, cleaned it up, and used it as a bedside table. Two years later I began to realize that it was a very good bedside table, probably better than anything I could design" said designer Jasper Morrison. The entire collection was born from that familiar and functional form. Of course special care was paid to improving on the construction and materials with strong finger joints forming solid boards of waxed pine. The full family includes The Crate, bookshelves, low tables with hinged lids, a chair, and even a daybed sofa.
