Challenging the conventions of a traditional drawer unit, Stack consists of individual, multicolored drawers that appear suspended above one another and open in both directions, creating an irregular composition. Appreciated from all angles as a sculptural object as well as an entirely functional, practical item of furniture, Stack creates a rich and wonderful spectacle of color and form.
Established in 2007 by Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay, the London-based studio is renowned for its inventive approach to design, working on products, limited-editions, and space-installations. The studio engages in collaborations spanning industrial production and experimental one-off projects with brands such as Louis Vuitton, Vitra, Stella McCartney, Mutina, Kvadrat, +Halle, Superfront, Cozmo, Golran, Gan, Swarovski, Established & Sons, Arco, Moroso, Cappellini, and Airbnb. Raw-Edges has won awards, including A&W 2020 Designers of the Year, Design Miami/Basel Designers of the Future, Wallpaper Design Award, and Elle-Decor EDIDA Award. Their designs are found in permanent collections of leading international museums such as MoMA in New York, the Vitra Design Museum, and The Art Institute of Chicago.
