Named after the epic poems of ancient times, the Epic Round Dining Table is a sculptural piece of furniture inspired by Greek columns and Roman architecture.

Originally made in Italy from travertine stone, the table's new variant marks the first time GamFratesi has worked with steel plates, which are galvanized, lacquered, and then treated with a series of hand-finishing processes to create a unique surface expression for each table. The table's monolithic form remains, now with an industrial expression, in which a new detail can be discovered with every use. The collection brings personality to private settings and an intriguing sense of weight and tactility to public and hospitality spaces, where its resilient surfaces offer exceptional levels of durability.

Compared to travertine, quartzite is harder and absorbs less water, and it is less susceptible to scratches than other, softer stones, making it ideally suited for outdoor use. Built to withstand extreme temperatures, the Epic Outdoor Dining Table is durable enough to last generations. Over time, the natural stone surface will subtly shift in tone, adding to its unique character.

With their own dual heritage, Italian Enrico Fratesi and Danish Stine Gam share GUBI's ability to synthesize seemingly opposing ideas, the classic and the contemporary, the intellectual and the sensual, the understated and the expressive, the manufactured and the unique. GamFratesi's Epic Collection brought the aesthetics of classical architecture and the rich textures of natural stone into the home, and now, their much-loved design steps outside with a new edition for the outdoors.
