At the upper end of a sleek circuit board, suspended on fine wires, a candle flame seems to flicker.
Two sets of 128 LEDs produce the gentle flicker of an almost pixelated flame to realistic and fascinating effect. The LEDs form a rectangle on both sides of the slender plate. In the middle section of the plate there is a small button switch with which the LEDs can be dimmed. The electrical components have been arranged in line with design considerations. One New Flame is powered via an electronic transformer integrated in the canopy.
Ingo Maurer started to design exceptional lamps, lighting systems, and objects beginning in the middle of the 1960s, which his company produces and distributes worldwide. Manual production by hand is an integral part of their corporate philosophy and all Ingo Maurer designs have been hand-made in their production facility in Munich, Germany since 1970.
