Named after the picturesque coastal town Cassis in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of southern France, where Eileen Gray spent significant periods of her life, the color scheme of this rug is reminiscent of the blackcurrant fruit of the same name. It combines deep terracotta and fresh strawberry red with geometric white and dark brown surfaces.
Eileen Gray not only created some of the most important 20th century furniture classics but also had her own studio where rugs were produced according to her designs. Some of her most beautiful patterns are now again available: masterpieces of abstract textile art of 100% pure new wool, natural vegetable dye, hand-woven and processed to the highest quality with a density of 80 knots per square inch.
Made of hand-spun New Zealand virgin wool. Environmentally friendly color pigments, tested according to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100. Low-maintenance, suitable for vacuum cleaners. Please note, +/- 5cm dimensional tolerances are possible. Custom sizes are also available, please contact Hive for assistance ordering.
