Niels Hvass is an idealist with sincerity as a key value. He was born in Nykøbing Mors, Denmark, in 1958 and qualified as a furniture designer from the Danish School of Design in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1987. Together with Christina Strand, he has run the design studio Strand + Hvass since 1991. But his impressive career also includes teaching at the Danish School of Design, membership of the grants committee and board of the Danish Arts Foundation, exhibitions at the Cabinetmakers' Autumn Exhibition, etc.

Skagerak FSC™-certified Teak comes from Brazil, Panama, Costa Rica and Indonesia. As the wood is untreated the surface will patina and change color over time into a beautiful silvery grey. To maintain untreated wood, it is a good idea to use sandpaper (grit 120-150) once or twice a year.
