Ten years and over 1.5 million chairs later, Studio 7.5 believed it was time to evaluate and rethink their original design of the Mirra chair. For one thing, they noted, work is evolving. People move, and the more they're in motion, the more they need support that moves with them.

As work evolves, and we become more active, flexing from individual to collaborative work in an instant, Mirra 2 moves with you, at one with your body. When you sit, Mirra 2 adapts to you instantly. Shift, and it dynamically supports even your slightest movements. By rethinking every part of a successful design, Mirra 2 has been made leaner, lighter, and so responsive it supports you wherever you go.

The design team at Studio 7.5 in Berlin, Germany, brings together engineering excellence with a passion for innovation and a keen sensitivity to how people interact with design. They understand the science of seating and strive to take it to the next level. The Studio 7.5 team consists of Nicolai Neubert, Claudia Plikat, Roland Zwick, Berkhard Schmitz, and Carol Zwick.

The Mirra chair helps Herman Miller reach its goal of sustainable design. Mirra 2 chairs are 93 percent recyclable, with 46 percent recycled content.

Height & movement - Pneumatic cylinder adjusts from 16" to 20.5" & chair swivels 360°.

Tilt limiter & seat angle - Adjustable tilt range (4 settings) & adjustable seat angle, from horizontal to 5° forward.

Materials - Butterfly back flexible polymer shell is merged with a fabric layer in a corresponding color. The AireWeave® seat suspension matches this back color. The bead covering the AirWeave attachment to the seat frame is the same color as the AireWeave suspension material. Base/frame finish is applied to base, tilt mechanism, loop spine, and arm posts.

Seat - FlexFront® seat adjusts depth from 16.75" to 18".

Lumbar support - Adjusts 4.5" in height and 1" in depth.

Arms - Adjustable arms move 5" vertically, 1.1" horizontally, 2" front to back, and pivot 20° outward and 20° inward.

Weight Limits - Tested and warranted for use by persons 350 pounds and under.
