Monika Mulder (1972, Woudsend, The Netherlands) started her successful career at the design department of Ikea in Sweden. In 2007, she launched her own design studio in an old sugar factory in Gothenburg. From there, she collaborates with many Swedish and international design brands. The focus of her work is to develop relevant solutions for real needs, and bring grace and beauty to everyday items. Her work is playful and functional, with an eye-catching appearance. Mulder's work has been featured in design books and exhibitions worldwide. Some of her designs have received awards such as Best Swedish Design (2001), Best Furniture of the Year (2003), Lamp of the Year (2017) and Best Bedroom Furniture of 2017.
